News from the Hattie Hardman Tithe Committee

January 2021

Happy New Year!!! Let us all lift our prayers of good health to 2021 and great each day “with a song in your hearts” (Lawrence Welk).

Unfortunately, there is a section of our community that is struggling. The need for food and winter clothing for adults and children is an on-going concern. Through the committee, our church has provided again this year the Keuka Food Pantry with $3000 to purchase hams and/or turkeys for Christmas. Also, the Living Well continues to support the community with both food and clothing distributions at their office. In support of the Living Well the Hattie Hardman Tithe Committee has approved two new grants that support the salaries for November, 2020 through January, 2021 and February, 2021 through April, 2021. These grants will ensure that the staff needed to provide the services of the Living Well will be available during these difficult and desperate times.

So, while in many ways our lives have been put on hold, please know that this committee is not on hold and your church family is working to improve life, from a gift from God, for the people of God. If you know of any needs that we can address please contact one of the committee members.

Peace,

Hattie Hardman Tithe Committee

December 2020

Here we are again preparing for the end of another year. While November started with above normal temperatures and plenty of Sunshine, we are ending with cooler days and have seen a few white flakes floating through the air. Of course, Thanksgiving was a wonderful treat even if our family gatherings may not be the same as past years. Let us all lift our prayers of good health to 2021 and great each day “with a song in your hearts” (Lawrence Welk).

November 2020

Our hope is that you have all had an opportunity to get out and enjoy a ride through parts of Upstate New York and the Finger Lakes to enjoy the beauty of the leaves. Perhaps you can take a moment and call someone you have not talked to recently and ask if they have enjoyed the leaf peeping.

During this last quarter of 2020 this committee has once again been able to reach out and support many people in the local community and beyond. The Covid-19 virus has changed some of our past plans but is still focus on changing the path of poverty. We have been gifted with the ability to support Excel Education Foundation in Tanzania, Africa, Milly’s Pantry, Literacy Volunteer’s, and the Living Well. In addition, we continue to support the Hope Kitchen.

So, while in many ways our lives have been put in hold, please know that this committee is not on hold and your church family is working to improve life, from a gift from God, for the people of God.

Peace,
